Shore Medical Nurses Fight For Their Rights
Nurses at Shore Medical Hospital in Somers Point are still fighting for higher compensation. Despite the fact that Shore Medical Center’s profits are on the rise, hospital nurses have yet to reap the fruits of their labor. Worse, they are slowly being contracted out. They are forced to re-apply for their positions just to receive a fraction of their wages.
Nurses form an integral part of any hospital’s success. Sadly, the nurses at Shore Medical Hospital are not being recognized by the management. Nurse representatives are being left out in the dark during management meetings. The nurses do not know any of the hospital’s future plans.
In recognition of the nurses’ plight, the local labor community and hospital patients rallied their support behind the nurses. Community leaders and hospital patients were present during the nurses demonstration.
