Pros : Pay and benefits are good, coworkers can be like family, opportunity for growth and advancement.

Cons : specific units have major bullying and harassment issues by superiors. Also The application process is absurd and extremley time consuming. It took me an hour and a half just to finish the application part for ONE opening (when there are a dozen openings you may wish to apply for and instead of being able to check a bunch and do one application they make you do one for each). After finishing the actual application part they inform you that you now have to complete a 250 question test that may take up to 3 hours (so if you don’t have an entire day to spend on applying for one position you have to start all over again because it won’t save the information you have already entered). You would think that the test would be given to identify a nurse’s clinical knowledge, skills, and ability to handle certain situations but you’d be wrong. It is actually 250 “I agree, somewhat agree, neither agree nor disagree, somewhat disagree or disagree” type questions in order to gauge your personality. If you aren’t the personality they’re looking for, you fail the test and the computer system forfeits your ability to re-apply for that position. This means your resume and application are never seen by the eyes of a Human Resources professional and the computer trashes your information and you can no longer be considered for that role. You are not allowed to retake the test. I was told by HR that the only way to re apply would be to create an entirely new email account trucking the computer into thinking you are someone new. This HR member also informed me that the only people who beat the test are people who choose only all parallel answers ( only choosing I completely agree or completely disagree never somewhat or neither) because otherwise you “come off indecisive and wishy-washy”. I later got an interview and landed a position after i made a new email and reapplied taking the test as she instructed me to. So in a nut shell I had a very negative application experience. actually gets to the step of being vi by a Human Resources This system Your resume and information are it can even make it to an actual human’s eyes. and then afterward, they require a test which instead of asking questions about one’s clinical knowledge and skills, is only a personality test which consists of 250 They obviously have a specific type of personality they’re looking for because if you don’t click the specific answers they want, all the time you spent on ONE application for ONE opening (when typically there are dozens of openings one might feel elligible to apply for)
