More than the education, the most important key for effective leadership in nursing is by having the right skills to lead your team. While it’s true that having a masters degree can land you a supervisory role or get you a promotion, what will really help you in your job are your leadership skill sets. 

For example, effective leadership and management in nursing means having a team mentality. You will have to be inclusive in your decision-making to manage your people well. Also, you will have to have confidence as well as good communication skills. These are both essential for cascading information to your team.
